Event Details

It’s happening! We’re getting set up, and we will use this post (and the Twitter account) to keep people updated everybody on the details.

Parking

The Atwater Garage is easy and relatively inexpensive (we are in downtown). Take Beaubien from Jefferson toward the river. Take the 3rd floor bridge across to the Renaissance Center, then follow the signs for the Marriott Hotel.

Photo Identification

Please bring your Photo ID. You will need it at registration.

Also, WordCamp Detroit may be the most secure WordCamp EVER. There is another major event happening at the RenCen this weekend (they can’t tell us what or who), and you may be asked to show photo ID if you venture into certain parts of the hotel.

Event Location

The conference is in the center section of the Ambassador Room. Take the elevator to the 3rd floor of the hotel. Registration and sponsor tables and food “in the style of breakfast” (food is on Saturday morning only) will be outside the ballroom.

Twitter

In case you hadn’t noticed, some of our organizers like to play with Twitter. The official #hashtag for the event is #WCDet. Or #wcdet, because WordCamp does not discriminate on the basis of case. Please remember to capitalize the “P” in WordPress.

WordPress Show -n-Tell

Here’s your chance for 5 minutes of WordPress-related fame!

What have you been doing with WordPress lately? Have a good story, a plugin you’re working on, a theme you’re designing, or maybe just an idea you want to share? Here’s your opportunity to do just that!

You must submit your idea by 7PM Saturday to be considered.

Connections

Want to learn more about other attendees? Do you want people to be able to find you? One place to do that is our Lanyrd page.
